Book a discovery call- What is a trapped emotion?
- The Emotion Code® proposes that emotionally intense experiences can leave behind an energetic residue that remains with a person after the event has passed. Practitioners refer to this as a trapped emotion, and believe it may show up later as emotional baggage or a recurring pattern. This is a concept within the Emotion Code® framework rather than an established scientific finding.
- How does muscle testing work?
- Muscle testing, sometimes called applied kinesiology, is used within the method as a way of checking responses to questions. Practitioners believe subtle changes in muscle response can help narrow down what may be present. In remote sessions, the practitioner performs the testing on their own behalf while holding your intention in mind. It is a tool used inside the method, not a diagnostic test.
- Can Emotion Code® sessions be done remotely?
- Yes. All sessions are conducted remotely — live over Zoom, or by email on a date you choose. Practitioners consider remote sessions equivalent to in-person work, and most clients find it more comfortable to be in their own space.
- What happens during a session?
- We begin by talking about what you'd like to explore. Muscle testing is then used to identify trapped emotional energies, and the Emotion Code® technique is used with the intention of releasing them. We finish with a short integration conversation. Unlike more traditional therapies, there is no need to relive traumatic experiences or delve extensively into painful memories.
- How many sessions do I need?
- There's no set number, and it depends on how many trapped emotions are underlying a specific issue. Typically clients are able to release anywhere between 5-15 emotions in a single session before the body 'taps out'. Some clients find a single session enough to resolve whatever issue they may be having; others return periodically as new things surface. A good approach is to begin with one session and see how it sits with you.
- Do I need to believe in energy healing?
- Not necessarily. That being said, if there is a strong resistance to letting go of deeply entrenched patterns, healing may be more difficult to access. When I first started practicing the Emotion Code®, I was skeptical myself-- until I started seeing results. I find that an attitude of openness and "Let's just try and see what comes up" to be the most helpful for myself and my clients.
- Is Emotion Code® a replacement for medical care or psychotherapy?
- No. The Emotion Code® is a complementary wellness practice and is not a substitute for medical diagnosis, medical treatment, psychotherapy, or emergency mental-health services. Sessions are designed to allow for greater depths of well being and may augment medical or therapeutic treatments, but are not intended to replace them.
